Text | Air Breathing Plasma Jet Engines | 003 Even though there are a multitude of various types of plasma jet engines out there, we are exclusively going to examine the Nitrogen fueled air breathing plasma jet engine. The Nitrogen fueled air breathing plasma jet engine is so uniquely designed that it should theoretically work either with a forced air intake or without a forced air intake. In either case, it is important that the engine in question make use of electric ark electrodes and a cylinderical electromagnet surround it. The prototype electrically based plasma jet engine will be exclusively powered by a Li-Ion battery. Whereas, the actual electric ark plasma jet engine that is intended for high atmospheric applications will be exclusively thermo-nuclear powered. This engine design must also include a surrounding electromagnet that would keep the thrust chamber of the plasma jet engine cool to the touch. The expected impulse time of operation for this engine design is greater than 1000 seconds.
